Volunteers for Project Homeless Connect 2015

January 29th, 2015 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Soldotna Sports Center.

This was a one day event that allowed people who are homeless or near homeless to access many services at one location.

Love Inc has an opportunity to purchase a building with a foot print of 23,000 square feet. The building is centrally located in Old Towne Kenai, a few blocks from our present location. This facility would have numerous benefits for us, and our community. The same approximate location will provide for localized networking with other agencies, job center, and public assistance. Our new facility would have an added benefit, an onsite education, business and conference room. The conference room would make available the convenience of satellite classes and generate unlimited potential.

Kenai Peninsula Foundation Grant

Love INC of the Kenai Peninsula would like to thank the Kenai Peninsula Foundation and The Alaska Community Foundation for their $500.00 grant to help provide support services for families in need.  Last year, Love INC provided services to over 200 families in our community. Without the support of  our community, many of these needs would go unmet.

Thank you to Jane Stein and Candace Winkler for your continued support of our programs.

Be Blessed, Be a Blessing,

Leslie Rohr

Executive Director

Love INC Christmas Tree at the Kenai Visitors Center!

These are pictures of our Christmas Tree to be auctioned off at the Kenai Visitors Center!  Please go by and make your silent auction of our Nativity Tree!  The minimum bid is only $125, and there are so many valuable items with this tree.  The rocking chair and quilt are worth well over $200, and Ten Thousand Villages is a wonderful organization that provides Fair Trade opportunities for people in poverty.  Your bid on this tree can mean so much.  Please go and bid – the winners will be announced during the festivities on the day after Thanksgiving!  Hurry!!!

Happy Boss’s Day!

Yesterday was the official Boss’s Day, but today we will give our shout-out to our boss, Leslie Rohr!  Leslie became the Executive Director in July of 2010, and now can no longer pull our often humorous response of “I’m new here!”

In fact, her sense of humor has been one of the many facets of our boss that has helped us all deal with the levity of the issues we face day to day.  Her medical knowledge has been an invaluable resource when we face requests for medical assistance, and her knowledge of the community resources and prior connections with these resources has helped make this organization known and understood within the community.  Leslie is someone who has personal experience walking through difficult times and is able to balance empathy with encouragement.  She has shown us how to go beyond the “hand-out” to the “hand-up.”

We would like to thank you, Leslie, for the work that you do and the way that you do it.  We pray for you and your family to continue to be a light for Jesus in our community.

P.F.D. Option to Give

We would love to have a portable basketball hoop, like this one, at the Family Hope Center at the Merit Inn!  We have families with older children in transition who would benefit from this activity.  If you would like to help by donating one, or raising funds for this resource, please contact us at 283-0262!

Would you consider donating $25 from your PFD towards this gift?  We will be happy to provide a receipt for tax purposes.
